Through our Youth Education program, the Blood Center teaches young people about the biology of blood, our role in the community, and the importance of blood donation.
This program combines an entertaining puppet show that can be used with or without instructional sessions. Instruction focuses on the importance of blood in our lives and building healthy habits. Effective for both small groups and classes, these sessions promote group involvement with puzzles and interactive games. The program includes an interactive workbook for grades 4-6 and a coloring book for grades K-3.

Our junior high and high school program encompasses a variety of blood-related topics like blood biology, historical perspectives, safety, and the donation process. The sessions are usually conducted in science class. In health classes, how blood relates to health is covered in-depth, touching upon topics like diet, exercise, smoking, and blood diseases. Videos, discussion, workbook activities, and blood typing round out the program. Program content can also be customized to the interest and aptitude of classes.
