FEEL-GOOD NEWS

A LIFESAVING FAREWELL TO THE MADISON DONOR CENTER

The Madison Donor Center closed its doors last Friday, but not before one more incredible day of saving lives.

We welcomed 2 platelet donors, 11 whole blood donors, and even 4 walk-ins. One of the most special moments came when a mother brought in her husband and son to donate together - a powerful reminder of how giving can truly be a family effort. Pictured are Christian Klitzke, Cynthia Schoettler, and Brian Klitzke.

Huge thanks to the Madison team for showing up strong through the very last day. The care, professionalism, and heart you brought to this center made a lasting impact on donors and patients alike.

We continue to serve Wisconsin hospitals and see donors at a regularly scheduled series of mobile blood drives in Madison.

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS AND CRUCIAL CONVERSATIONS

Showing up for community always matters.

We loved being part of the Celebrity's Beauty Supply Black History Month Showcase! Huge thanks to Cheryl Easley, Donor Recruiter, for connecting with the community and sharing how easy it is to Put Good Into the World through blood donation. Every conversation matters.

HONORING BJ LUXMORE'S LEGACY

At Sherrard High School, giving blood is about more than a single day. It's about honoring a hero.

Recently, Lane Luxmore donated blood in honor of his dad, BJ Luxmore, who lost his life while serving in Afghanistan when Lane was very young. It was also a great blood drive, with students and staff showing up strong to support patients in need.

BJ's memory lives on at Sherrard in so many meaningful ways. The baseball field scoreboard bears his name. The school hosts a blood drive in his honor each year. And through the Bryant J. Luxmore Memorial Fund, his legacy continues to make a difference.

GOOD GIVING PROGRAM REFRESHED

Starting Monday, we're refreshing our Good Giving Program, making it even easier for donors to support causes they care about.

Good Giving connects blood donors with meaningful nonprofits. After you donate, you can choose to pass along your post donation reward to a curated list of 501(c)(3) organizations, turning everyday generosity into real world impact.

From Monday through August 30, 2026, donors can choose from one list of charities. Then beginning August 31, 2026 through February 28, 2027, a whole new group of curated nonprofits will be available.

It's a simple way to give back, support important causes, and help save lives all at once.

THANK THE DONOR

"Thank you for donating your blood! You helped my 80 year old grandma recover from hip surgery when she was losing a lot of blood. Your blood made an impact on her life, helping her heal."

Thank the Donor is a simple way for patients to share their gratitude with the people who donated the blood that helped save a life. With just a quick note, we help close the loop and remind donors that their generosity truly matters.

THANK THE DONOR
