ImpactLife is asking all eligible and potential first-time blood donors to help the region's blood supply recover donations lost over Memorial Day Weekend. The holiday weekend and the end of the school year has placed a strain on projections for blood donation going into the first weeks of summer, with blood inventory levels for type O-negative recently at less than a 3-day supply. To help improve schedules, the blood center is now offering $20 in bonus value (or 1000 bonus points) for donations made at ImpactLife Donor Centers through June 8.

ImpactLife blood inventory levels as of May 28, 2025. All blood types are needed daily, and there is special emphasis on recruitment of type O-negative and B-negative donors.
To meet ongoing patient needs and to respond to any spikes in blood utilization, ImpactLife seeks to maintain a consistent rate of blood donation year round. After donation, each unit of blood is tested, processed, and delivered through ImpactLife distribution hubs. These processes take approximately 24 hours to complete, so the blood center works with hospitals to keep a sufficient inventory “on the shelves” to avert blood shortages on an ongoing basis and in times of crisis, when hospitals may experience a sharp increase in patient need.
