On Giving Tuesday, ImpactLife invites donors to make an appointment to help save lives. The nonprofit blood provider has been affected by recent snowstorms that canceled multiple blood drives and closed several of its donor centers last weekend and again early this week. Donors are needed to help make up for donations lost to the storm and to ensure the blood supply remains strong through the holiday season.
To book an appointment for donation, call (800) 747-5401, text LIFESAVER to 999-777, or book online at bloodcenter.org, or via the Blood Center's mobile app (www.bloodcenter.org/app).
ImpactLife has a number of special programs underway to thank donors for taking time to give blood during the busy holiday season. See below for details on:
- Good Giving: donate funds to the nonprofit of your choice while supporting our region’s blood supply.
- Big Ten We Give Blood Drive: last week to support your favorite B1G university!
- Kindle Paperwhite drawing: give blood through December 14 and enter for a chance to win a Kindle Paperwhite.
Donor For Life and Good Giving
Under the Donor For Life program, blood donors receive a voucher to redeem for their choice of an electronic gift card, bonus points to use in the ImpactLife Donor Rewards Store, or an equivalent value donation to support the 501(c)(3) nonprofit of the donor’s choice. Last Call! Big Ten We Give Blood Drive wraps up Dec. 5
ImpactLife is part of an effort by the Big Ten conference and Abbott to increase blood donation by students, alumni, and fans of Big Ten schools. Less than a week remains in the Big Ten's “We Give Blood Drive” that has schools vying for a $1 million grant to advance student or community health by recruiting the greatest number of donors by this weekend's Big Ten Football Championship.![Big Ten graphic]()
- Every donation scores one point for the Big Ten school designated by the donor on the leaderboard.
- The winning school will receive $1 million to advance student or community health.
- Individual donors receive a limited-edition Homefield-designed T-shirt to represent their favorite school (shown at www.BigTen.org/abbott and in media assets), while supplies last!
