This week, ImpactLife is “on call” to help support blood inventory needs in the event of a crisis as a member of the national Blood Emergency Readiness Corps (BERC). The blood center is seeking additional donations to support needs that may arise nationally and within our region. To schedule, call ImpactLife at (800) 747-5401, visit www.bloodcenter.org, or download the ImpactLife mobile app at www.bloodcenter.org/app.
BERC is a network of community blood centers from across the nation committed to preparing for mass transfusion emergencies. By collecting extra units on a rotating “on-call” schedule, BERC members establish a ready pool of blood that can be tapped into during disasters, providing an invaluable safety net in times of crisis.
