Wear Orange Weekend 2025 is observed from June 6-8, 2025, coinciding with National Gun Violence Awareness Day on June 6th. This event is a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about gun violence and to honor the victims and survivors of gun violence.
For this effort, ImpactLife is in partnership with the department of trauma at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.
ImpactLife Chief Medical Officer Dr. Daniela Hermelin, who is also an assistant professor of pathology at St. Louis University, said, “One point that deeply resonates with me is the relationship between gun violence and blood transfusions. This blood drive offers us an opportunity to raise awareness around both issues—gun violence and the lifesaving importance of blood donation—by highlighting the continuum of care and support.”
ImpactLife will offer an easily-accessible mobile donor bus in the parking lot:
SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital
1465 S Grand Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63104
The blood drive is scheduled from 11-3:00.

Donors may choose to “pay it forward,” and transfer their reward to the registered charity of their choice. The ImpactLife Good Giving program allows donors to choose how their generosity impacts the community. For each lifesaving blood donation, donors can direct a financial contribution from ImpactLife to a participating charitable organization.

ImpactLife, which has a footprint in four states in the Midwest – Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin – provides lifesaving blood products to more than 120 hospitals and emergency medical providers. The 501(c)3 nonprofit, independent, community blood center collects blood at 23 donor centers and at more than 5,000 mobile blood drives, each year.
ImpactLife has an administrative, distribution and lab facility in Earth City, MO, near St. Louis. Knowing how spikes in blood utilization can occur at any time, we staff our lab and distribution hubs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
