Published by Kirby Winn on Saturday, April 4, 2026 in News Releases The town of Kenney, Illinois (pop. 311) is among the smallest to host a blood drive with ImpactLife, but its volunteer fire department organizes one of the largest community blood drives we hold in our four-state service region (Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin). This year, on April 3rd (Good Friday), Kenney Fire recruited more than 100 donors to a blood drive held in the fire department's apparatus bay. EMS teams know better than most about the importance of maintaining a strong and stable blood supply for patient care, and volunteers with Kenney Fire shared a firsthand understanding of how blood is used in emergency rooms. Organizing, hosting, and promoting the blood drive shows the Kenney Fire Department going “above and beyond” to serve their community.
