Blood donors tell us all of the time that they give blood because they want to put good into the world for their family, friends, neighbors, and community. That's why we offer a way for donors to extend the impact of their donation through Good Giving.
Good Giving is an opportunity to use the value of Donor Rewards as a donation to a nonprofit or cause. And so far this year, our donors have contributed more than $30,000 to nonprofit causes.
We recently distributed checks to nonprofit food banks and animal shelters across our service region after blood donors gave $33,140 in Donor Rewards from March 2 through August 31, 2026. Funds are provided by blood donors who select a Good Giving donation as their donor reward, rather than a gift card or points to use in the ImpactLife Donor Rewards Store.
HOW IT WORKS: After each donation, blood donors receive an email with the subject line “Your Recent Donation” within 48 hours. The message includes a link to order a thank you gift, which can come in the form of an electronic gift card, points to use in the Donor Rewards Store, or the opportunity to make a charitable donation. Donors who select the Good Giving option receive information on how to select their charity. The amount of the contribution is based on the type of blood donation (whole blood, double red cells, or platelets / plasma) and donor frequency.
Good Giving continues into 2027 with nonprofit options that include national health advocacy organizations and childrens hospitals serving communities of the ImpactLife service region. See the list, and learn more about our recent check presentations.
