Red4Life

In recognition of World Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Day (June 19) and Juneteenth, we hosted an event at our Davenport Headquarters to lift up community members living with sickle cell disease and remember those lost.

Speakers included Dr. Meredith Parsons from the University of Iowa, Shyneeta Rush (Supervisor-Donor Services) and Cheryl Easley (Apheresis Donor Recruiter). There was a moving tribute to sickle cell Warriors In Battle and Winged Warriors. Blood donors play a critical role in easing the pain of a sickle cell crisis and giving hope to those who battle every day.

We’re always on the lookout for more partners, to help us reach more diverse donors. If you’re interested in a Red4Life event, let’s talk!

Behind every great blood drive, you'll find a great blood drive coordinator.

In Franklin County (MO), longtime coordinator Ken Schlitt has made a major impact by giving blood while encouraging others to do the same. Ken started nearly 60 years ago, showing what dedication, consistency, and care can do for a community.

Just1more can make a big impact

27 years and more than 7,500 donations later, LeAnn Depue (pictured left) really is a Partner for Life. LeAnn coordinated drives for Central DeWitt Community School District since 1998 and her work has impacted countless lives across our communities.

This summer, we’re asking you to help us in three simple but powerful ways:

  1. Invite Just1More First-Time Donor
  2. Encourage Just1More Donor to Return
  3. Host Just1More Blood Drive

With Just1More, you're helping build a community that saves lives. Our team of Account Managers will work with you to determine the logistics for your blood drive event! Thank you for being part of something bigger!

Donate with pride

We all bleed the same. Sam Phillips is a gymnast at the University of Illinois and stopped by our Urbana center to share his story. He reminds us that giving blood is a simple act that connects us, heals us, and shows us what it means to give with pride. Watch his story below.

donor for life

Our Donor for Life program makes giving even more rewarding. With every donation, donors earn points toward ImpactLife gear, recognition, and more, all while making a lifesaving difference.

Through July 6, donors who give at any ImpactLife Donor Center will receive a $20 gift card (or 1,000 bonus points). And don’t forget, hosting a blood drive at one of our Donor Centers qualifies your donors for our summer bonus days! And it's great and easy option to keep donors engaged and earning rewards.

tips for a successful blood drive

Blood Types Needed

Many variables can impact our blood inventories such as weather, holidays or tragic events.  Every day, patients who need blood are in crisis and you can help by volunteering to donate.  Less than 10% of the population gives blood, so donors that give on a regular basis are important to meet these needs. Book an appointment today!
