Battle of the Boards Scorecard

The ImpactLife Associate Boards battled all summer long to see who could save the most lives, and the Quad Cities came out on top with 99 lifesaving donations! All together through their advocacy and other efforts, the boards brought in 203 donations during the critical summer months.

Why are you a member of the Associate Board?
I'm a trauma survivor who wouldn't be alive without donated blood. I also work with trauma survivors who rely on blood donations. My mission in life is to help individuals on their journey from surviving to thriving. Increasing blood donations through community partnerships is an important way to live out my mission.

Long-distance running
Why are you a member of the Associate Board? I'm passionate about donating, and I wanted to do more to help encourage others to donate blood products. What is your blood type?
A+, which means I'm a universal platelet donor!
What is your favorite post-donation treat?
Multigrain chips from the canteen - they always hit the spot

Facebook, because I'm an Elder Millennial :)
Tell us a fun hobby that you have
I've recently begun learning to play the ukulele.
Why are you a member of the Associate Board?
I had a series of blood transfusions many years ago and it saved my life. Donating blood is such an easy way to give back to my own community and help others.

Why are you a member of the Associate Board?
I am a member of the Associate Board because as I practice medicine, I continue to witness the the critical need for blood products. I desire to make a difference in the community to ensure those that need life-saving products will always have access to them.

Why are you a member of the Associate Board?
I started donating blood regularly in college, and I just loved knowing how a little bit of time could make all the difference for someone in need. I personally know people who heavily rely on blood products, and I love advocating for more people to take the time to donate.

Tell us a fun hobby that you have
I play a Dungeons & Dragons campaign with my friends, and my husband DM's! Between this and video games, there's plenty of nerdy fun had at my place.
Why are you a member of the Associate Board?
I wanted to find a way to volunteer and give back to the St. Louis community! I love that ImpactLife serves our St. Louis hospitals directly and the Associate Board is a great opportunity to engage with ImpactLife outside of my regular donations!

I am a member of the Associate Board because I would like to connect more with the St. Louis community and increase blood drive outreach to help better represent the demographics of the Gateway Region!

Why are you a member of the Associate Board?
I am a member of the Associate Board because I want to help raise awareness on the importance of donating. A small portion of our time goes into donating but can mean a lifetime for someone in need.

I have been a competitive tennis player for sixteen years and currently play every Sunday!
Why are you a member of the Associate Board?
I am a member of the Associate Board because I wanted to educate others of the importance of blood donations. I lost my father and several family members to cancer and with cancer patients using nearly 1/4 of the blood supply I want others to know that they are needed and can help save lives with just a few minutes every few months.

The little Snackwells vanilla cookies in the green package, YUM!
Favorite social media platform?
Although I use Facebook the most, out of habit, my favorite social media platform is Instagram.
Tell us a fun hobby that you have?
I have a lot of hobbies and interests but a few of my favorites are kayaking, camping, and listening to live music.
Why are you a member of the Associate Board?
I am on the associate board to help get college aged people more informed on the importance of blood donations!

Why are you a member of the Associate Board?
I like helping advocate for Impactlife through the associate board because of how important it is for every community to access to blood. You never know when you or a loved one is the one needing access to a blood.

I enjoy being active, playing golf, and I love to travel!.
Why are you a member of the Associate Board?
My son Hudson received numerous blood transfusions throughout his cancer treatment to allow him to continue treatment. I hope to show our community how impactful donation is. Blood is medicine and saves lives. My son wouldn't be here without donors.

My favorite hobby is organizing, fundraising and being the founder of our nonprofit, Hudson Strong Foundation. In my free time I love to be outdoors with my two kiddos and garden!
Why are you a member of the Associate Board?
I have been a long term blood donor and was excited to get more involved in blood drives through helping with the Love Like Loudon blood drive. I joined the associate board to continue to help support blood donation in the Muscatine Community.
