Blood Drives

Love Like Louden Birthday Blood Drive - Saturday, January 27

Louden's Story

We should all Love Like Louden.

In April 2021, Louden Lofgren unexpectedly passed away due to complications following routine surgery. He was just two years old. His family saw firsthand how important it is to have blood available on hospital shelves, and they decided to help.

They stared by donating blood. Then they organized a monthlong blood drive in Muscatine where more than 300 donors came out to Love Like Louden.

But they still wanted to do more.

So next came the Love Like Louden 5k in the fall of 2021, with proceeds supporting our mission, where more than 300 community members helped honor the little boy gone too soon.

The following summer, Louden's Mom, Maggie, and his aunt, Olivia, hosted a Love Like Louden kids event at Weed Park. There were water balloons and laughter all around, and Love Like Louden raised another $600 for our mission.

The Lofgrens didn't stop there. Maggie and Olivia joined the Quad-Cities Associate Board, to champion our lifesaving mission and bring the community together to change the world.

In total, the family helped us collect 529 lifesaving donations, and that number just keeps going up.

Louden continues to make an impact in this world. We’re honored to be part of his legacy. You can be a part of that legacy by donating in honor of Louden. Click the button below to book your appointment now.
