We should all Love Like Louden.
In April, Louden Lofgren unexpectedly passed away from complications following routine surgery. He was just two years old. His family saw firsthand how important is it to have blood available on hospital shelves. And they decided they wanted to help.
They started by becoming blood donors. Then they organized a monthlong blood drive in Muscatine, recruiting everyone they could to help build the blood supply and build awareness to the need for blood. Three hundred people showed up to give lifesaving blood.
But they still wanted to do more.
So they organized Love Like Louden, a 5K and fun run, with proceeds going to support our mission. The race happened Saturday along the Mississippi River in Muscatine, where more than 300 participants helped honor the little boy gone far too soon.
Louden continues to make an impact in this world. We’re honored to be part of his legacy.
